Business Analyst

Leading FTSE 250 company which owns a wealth of commercial ventures throughout its numerous brands, is currently looking for three Business Analysts.

Job Description:

The Business Analysts will  head up and lead three new areas of the business, reporting at Senior level and interacting with and challenging non-financial departmental Heads. These roles are instrumental for providing a variety of analysis key to empowering the department Heads drive the business forward with the foremost focus on driving revenue and maintaining a successful business. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will encompass a wide-range of detailed analytical reporting, some generation of their own work.

Roles / Responsibilities:

• Provide support and analysis to the business managers for strategic and operational business decisions
• Advise on competitor activity and market trends
• Model the financial and non-financial outcomes of alternative scenarios and advise their business accordingly
• Represent finance at regular business management meetings with a view to educating the business management team and increasing financial awareness
• Provide a fast, informed and independent appraisal to management of any major project to be undertaken by the business
• Respond promptly to queries from business representatives and external parties
• Promote cross-business learning by working with Business Analysts from other businesses within the group
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and also statutory, tax, and financial policies and procedures

Skills / Experience:

• Respond promptly to queries from business representatives and external parties
• confident, personable with a pure business analysis background or a mix of strong management accounts plus analysis, from a similar commercial and forward-thinking company.
• Recent and relevant commercial experience in providing business analysis at strategic level, ideally from within a media background
• Previous experience of budgeting and forecasting and delivering KPIs
• Knowledge of producing the management accounts or at minimum reviewing the management accounts ; strong financial  and analytical skills.
  PQE CIMA/CFA/ACA.
• Strong systems experience including Excel to an advanced level as new reports will need to be created and integrated, financial modelling desirable
• Must be a strong influencer/negotiator  with the ability to challenge department heads and financial results

This role will be varied and will only suit a highly accurate and technically strong commercial analyst with solid business acumen who likes to use their initiative and is always striving to ensure their work is meticulous. There will be support from qualified and experienced Senior Commercial Finance Managers but this role will work directly with a range of non-finance colleagues and therefore offer exposure for this analyst to shoulder responsibility for key business decisions initiated and rolled out by the individual.
