Management Accountant

Globally recognised publishing group currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Qualified Management Accountant. This is a well established brand that has developed a market leading position.

The purpose of this role is to deliver accurate, high quality management accounting and financial support to central cost centres. The Management Accountant will work closely with the Head of Finance to develop the business case, prepare the Profit & Loss and regular reports to assist the department with budgeting, forecasting and other financial analysis.

• Producing daily and weekly sales and margin reports
• Preparation of weekly and monthly financials including KPIs, analyse resultant variances and recommend action
• Assist in the preparation of annual operating plan and quarterly re-forecasts
• Preparation of the monthly management accounts
• Balance sheet preparation and review of report accounts
• Conduct monthly reviews with department heads to track spend to budget, investigate variances and recommend areas of cost saving
• To be recognised as a business partner for designated senior managers, providing added value analysis of business performance and creating detailed operating plans, to enhance decision making capabilities

• Current proven experience of monthly management accounts with knowledge of putting together profit and loss reports and balance sheets.
• Current sales analysis is necessary
• Previous experience within the publishing sector would be advantageous. Strong IT skills are essential; experience with SUN and Hyperion would be beneficial, and strong Excel skills are essential.
• Good knowledge of IFRS.

• The successful applicant will be a part-qualified, ACCA/CIMA, Management Accountant ideally at intermediate or finalist stage.
• Ideally the candidate will be educated to a degree level with a relevant subject with a strong proven academic record.
